SOMETHINGS WE JUST DON'T NOTICE THAAAAAT MUCH
you know what's the one word i loathe the most?.........WORRY.
once we step into the world and start interacting, we start to worry about things. in fact, we spend almost the whole of our lives worrying............and i hate it.
when you're in school, you worry about academic excellence, worry about your image to your peers, worry about boys for girls and girls for boys. when you're one step higher, you start to worry about college, worry about your tank being empty and car stopping in the middle of nowhere, worry about parents being a nag to you coming home 1 minute past 12 midnight.
no? you don't go through that?
well........when you get into an accident which caused a tiny indent on a honda jazz and the compensation burns rm600, you'll start to worry. when you came to somehow dug out the news that your parents have financial problems and they shield it from you, THEN you'll start to worry. when you gain 15 kgs after stopping your hardcore volleyball training and go through uncontrollable lethal eating disorder and severe depression for 5 years and can't seem to overcome it, then and only then, you'll start to worry. ....
today, marcus came out of nowhere, all restless, with his right hand holding the nokia to his ear and left hand pulling leonard's tee. he was all fidgety and brisk walking up and down that small area relentlessly. the ones sitting at the study table just beside were wondering why is he like this this time around (yes. marcus is often than not like this)
well, guess what? he.....was......worried.
yes....worried about not being able to pursue his degree in a prestigious uni. and after ALL that worrying....he found out that no-he did not get into the uni he so wish for.
wow. worrying.....doesn't pay, does it?
so why
worry you may ask......well. it's a natural instinct for humans to
worry. and it's an ignorance and dquite enial if you say "i don't". and by saying you don't, (i may be wrong), you...are actually worried about peoples word on you in directly. and since we have been grown attach to this act, it's hard to grow....out of it. as humans, we are frequently poured down with obstacles and seemingly going through the
carousel of life. this even makes it rather difficult not to worry.
have you heard of this cliche saying,
"don't worry, be happy"?
this is adapted from Wikipedia :
Meher Baba gave this personal message to his followers: "Don't worry, be happy. All will be well. Faithfully carry out the instructions given by me." Inspired by the expression's charm and simplicity McFerrin wrote the now famous song. It ought to be noted that Meher Baba did not mean to convey by this expression that one should not tie up their camel, the sentiment that led to the satirical iconic image of a smiley face with a bullet through its head. He was scrupulous (extremely honest) about tending to personal duties and facing reality head on. This is evidenced by the fact that his words were often, "Do your best, then don't worry, be happy"words of console. to me, it worth nothing. it makes you feel better temporarily, no doubt. but the problem will still stay put and you will still worry for the outcome and problem in hand.
worry.
absolute abhorrence to the word.
